Parenting and Recovery Program

The Parenting and Recovery Program addresses parenting education and the unique challenges faced by parents in recovery. Parents discuss how stress affects both parenting and recovery, and how to reduce that stress through the use of effective parenting techniques, stress and anger management and information on child development. Those who complete all eight classes will receive a certificate of completion.

About the Class

 

The Parenting and Recovery Program is held once a week for two hours, for a total of eight weeks. This class is geared towards parents in treatment for substance use and has been used as part of inpatient, outpatient or after-care treatment in different facilities.

Parenting to Keep Your Child Drug & Alcohol Free

Child Safety

Temperament & Self-Esteem

Positive Discipline

Communication

Stress Management & Emotions

Nutrition, Exercise & Family Care

Locations

Classes are available  on Oahu at:

– Women’s Community Correctional Center, Kailua

– Substance Abuse Treatment Facilities

– Federal Detention Center (FDC)

– Institute for Human Services (IHS)
